TI, MPs seek probe into Fico's assets

Transparency International Slovakia (TIS) and MPs Jan Bencik and Radovan Kazda want the assets of Smer-SD head Robert Fico to be checked in light of a recently leaked surveillance video from Ficos meeting in a hunting cabin, filing a motion to this effect with the parliamentary committee for incompatibility of posts and powers. TIS pointed to information that has appeared in several media concerning the transcript of the leaked video footage. According to this, Fico at the cabin meeting mentioned that someone had stolen 50,000 (euros) and several gold coins from his office at Smer headquarters. Fico reacted to these reports by stating that he doesn't trust banks and that he keeps a portion of his savings in cash.
