Three in Czechia may have contracted South African COVID mutation

February 23rd, 2021

Three people in Czechia are suspected of contracting the more contagious South African mutation of coronavirus, they have returned from Zanzibar, Health Minister Jan Blatny tweeted today, adding that their samples are now being sequenced in the National Health Institute. Sequencing is a thorough detailed analysis serving to confirm the presence of the mutation. The South African mutation has already appeared in some countries neighbouring on Czechia. It has spread in Austria's Tyrol, and Poland reported its first case of incidence last week.
