Third virus wave mostly due to British variant - health minister

The British mutation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is the main cause of the third wave of the coronavirus epidemic in Poland, the health minister said on Monday. Adam Niedzielski added that the British variant's share in infections is growing very rapidly. The health minister told a Monday press conference that the British strain's responsibility for the third wave had been confirmed by genome research into the virus in those regions of the country that have a high number of infections.
