Czech tennis star and double Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova, ranked world No. 8 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), on Thursday said she was ending her season and would not play in the WTA tournament in Ostrava, north Moravia, next week. She said in a video interview that she had made the decision to end her season on Wednesday, citing her demanding programme in the past weeks among the reasons. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all tennis tournaments from March until the end of July were scrapped, along with the whole Asian autumn series, including the WTA Finals.
