Szijjarto: First electric bus manufactured in Hungary for Volanbusz

National bus carrier Volanbusz has taken delivery of its first electric bus, a model by Chinese manufacturer BYD made in Hungary. The bus will travel a route across the Slovak border at Komarom, while its factory is located in the same area. Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said at the inaugural event that BYD intended to play a key role in Komarom as a European production base. "BYD produces environmentally friendly buses ... and is fulfilling a key role in efforts to once again put Hungary in a prime position in European bus production befitting its glories of the past," he said.
