The regional programme support office of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism will be based in Budapest, the foreign minister said on Thursday, ahead of an international conference focusing on the prevention of radicalisation leading to terrorism. Several specialised UN organisations already have a regional headquarter in Hungary, Peter Szijjarto told a press conference in Budapest. Hungary is an active and successful participant in the international community's fight against terrorism, he said. Vladimir Voronkov, Under-Secretary for the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, told the conference that terrorism in all its forms and manifestation remained a pressing and evolving global challenge.
