Supreme court dismisses former SIS head's appeal against custody

May 25th, 2021

Former head of the Slovak Intelligence Service (SIS) Vladimir P. will remain in custody, the Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday. The Supreme Court dismissed Vladimir P.s appeal against a decision of the Speicalised Criminal Court, which refused to release him from custody on May 1, explaining that it sees the appeal as unsubstantiated. The ex-SIS head has been in custody since March 29, after the National Crime Agency (NAKA) charged him with accepting a bribe from business tycoon Zoroslav K.
