Prime Minister Andrej Babis's ANO movement would win a general election in October with 28.5 percent, but its support has declined from 30 percent in September, while the preferences of its coalition partner, the Social Democrats (CSSD), keep plummeting, according to the latest Median election model. The pollsters say the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic in the country may have contributed to ANO's decreasing voter support. The Pirates would finish second with 13.5 percent, followed by the Civic Democrats (ODS) with 13 percent. Support for both opposition parties has risen since August. The junior government Social Democrats saw a 3 percentage point decline, while the position of the Mayors and Independents (STAN) improved by 2.5 percentage points.
