Student assocs call for measures against plagiarism

Twenty-two student associations have called on the government to prepare new mechanisms to detect academic fraud and on politicians to shoulder personal responsibility in cases of plagiarism. Universities should be given the power to withdraw degrees if evidence of serious mistakes emerge, the joint statement said on Monday. The statement was a reaction to plagiarism charges levelled against House Speaker Boris Kollar.
