Stefanec: Slovakia joining EU 14 years ago was historic milestone

It was a historic milestone when Slovakia joined the European Union 14 years ago; the current discussions about the EU's future prove that it's a vital and dynamic project, stated Slovak MEP Ivan Stefanec on Tuesday, marking the 14th anniversary of Slovakia joining the EU. "The results speak for themselves. Over the last 14 years Slovakia has experienced unprecedented progress basically in all indicators. The European Union is a natural, civilised, cultural, economic and political space for us. The current debate about its future and functioning only shows that it's a dynamic and vital project and that there's an interest in constantly improving it and bringing it closer to the people," said Stefanec.
