Statistics Office: employment down 4.8 percent in 1Q21

Employment in Slovakia decreased by 4.8 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) in the first quarter of this year, the Statistics Office reported on Friday, adding that falls were recorded in most sectors of the economy. The number of employed in the first three months of this year amounted to some 2.5 million. "Seasonally adjusted overall employment stood at 2,508,400 people, 0.7 percent down from the final quarter of 2020," said the Statistics Office.
