The Czech state investment in caring for addicted persons may see a return of 1.5 to five times due to savings in health and social costs as well as lower economic damages and criminality, representatives of non-profit organisations (involved with the issue) said on Thursday. Next year, the budget for addiction care should be 35 million crowns lower than in 2019, meaning there will be less money for ambulances, prevention campaigns and clean syringes, the non-profits said.
