The Justice Ministry will pay over 100,000 crowns (EUR 4,100) to a woman whose father, a West German citizen, was shot dead by a Czechoslovak military border patrol in 1949, her lawyer Lubomir Muller told CTK on Friday and ministry spokesman Vladimir Repka confirmed the information. The law, based on which the compensation will be granted, dates back to the 1990s and has remained unchanged for many years, as a result of which the value of the compensation sums has decreased, Repka admitted. "This was a case from the court rehabilitation agenda. The compensation may seem low, but it corresponds to the law's wording," he said.
