The State Material Reserves Administration (SSHR) plans to purchase 2.5 million nasal antigen test kits for Covid-19, SSHR chair Jan Rudolf said on Tuesday. Based on detailed specs received from the Health Ministry on Friday, SSHR launched a public tender for the kits on Monday. Potential bidders can apply until noon on February 10. "Nasal antigen tests are less invasive than kits based on nasopharynx swabs. Because of this, they are recommended for testing children despite their lower sensitivity," the SSHR spokesperson said, adding that the swab is taken only from the front parts of the nose.
