Special Prosecutor's Office charges lawyer and businessman with accepting bribes

The Special Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday charged lawyer Zoroslav K. and entrepreneur Tomas R. (names abbreviated due to legal reasons) with three counts of accepting bribes in 2019-2020. According to the indictment, the bribes, worth hundreds of thousands of euros, were meant to ensure that the Financial Administrations criminal office would prevent an investigation into the illegal production of cigarettes. If found guilty, the two men could spent up to ten to fifteen years in prison. In addition, their assets would be confiscated by the state.
