Some 500 civilian employees be laid off from Slovak Army as part of cost saving

November 4th, 2021

The Slovak Armed Forces will cancel some 700 work positions in connection with a 10-percent slimming down of the labour force in public service, Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad said following the ceremonial event held in Trencin on Thursday to mark the 30th anniversary of founding the Military Police. "No military police officers or soldiers will be laid off. The layoffs will only concern civilian employees, particularly people at the retirement age and receivers of retirement income," said the minister.
