Some 37,000 customers of Zilina-based Stredoslovenska distribucna (SSD) power utility in central Slovakia have been cut off from electricity supplies following strong winds and heavy snow, company spokesman Miroslav Gejdos told TASR on Thursday. According to Gejdos, 26 high-voltage lines and more than 400 transformer stations are out of operation. He ascribed this mainly to fallen trees, which tore through wires and damaged poles
