Sofranko: Cyril & Methodius Day marks our birthday as nation and Christians

Several Slovak politicians and political parties on Monday commemorated Saints Cyril and Methodius, concurring on the importance of their arrival in Great Moravia in the 9th century as well as the strength of their legacy for the present. Today, we celebrate the feast of two brothers who made important and significant moves for our nation that formed our culture, language and Christianity, stated the coalition We Are Family on its Facebook account, claiming that its always supported Slovak traditions and related feasts. Meanwhile, OLaNO MP Maria Sofranko remarked that Slovaks celebrate a double holiday on this day. We celebrate our birthday as a nation, while at the same time we celebrate our birthday as Christians, she said.
