The social policy of the Czech Republic is viewed as positive by two-fifths of Czechs, with half of the population expressing the opposite view, according to a poll conducted by the CVVM polling institute in December and released on Tuesday. Three-quarters of Czechs think the way the social safety net works for seniors is bad and one-quarter thinks it is very bad, with 72 percent saying they would put more money into pensions. Two-thirds of respondents said social support for housing is bad and three-fifths think the health-care and education systems are good. The social safety net does not work in case of sickness, injury or disability according to three-fifths of respondents.
