Smer wants referendum on snap election, proposes special house session

The opposition Smer-SD party is filing on Wednesday a proposal to convene a special parliamentary session at which it wants to adopt a resolution on announcing a referendum, party leader Robert Fico told a news conference. In the referendum Smer-SD would like to ask citizens whether or not they wish MPs to shorten this electoral term by a constitutional law so that the early general election is held on June 30, 2021.
