Slovak Environment Minister Laszlo Solymos (Most-Hid) will sign on Wednesday in New York a contract which will bind Slovakia for the first time ever to contribute to the Green Climate Fund, the Environment Ministry said. "Today, we can be proud of the fact that Slovakia is aware of its responsibility for the environment on the global level and that it'll financially support the battle for cleaner developing countries," Solymos said. Slovakia will contribute a sum of approximately 1.8 million euros. The fund is among the key global tools for adapting to climate change in developing countries.
