Slovakia suspends D1 motorway construction due to coronavirus

Construction work on the D1 motorway section Presov, west-Presov, and south, has been interrupted due to the occurrence of the new coronavirus as requested by the contractor, the association of companies Eurovia SK, Doprastav and Metrostav, TASR learnt from spokeswoman for the National Highway Company (NDS) Michaela Michalova on Friday. Michalova said that a lot of people are needed at the construction site, and the contractor is not able to provide sufficient protection against the spread of the disease.
