Slovakia retail sales exceed pre-Covid levels in May

Retail sales in Slovakia in May 2021 exceeded the level of the previous year by more than 10 percent and even the pre-Covid level in May 2019 by 5 percent, the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday. Hypermarkets, mail-order and online shops posted higher revenues than both a year ago and two years ago in May. Car sales went up significantly as well, but they still haven't reached the level seen in May 2019.
