Slovakia population 5.46 m in 2019 - stats office

A total of 5,457,873 people were living in Slovakia in 2019, of whom 2,792,523 were women and 2,665,350 men, according to a Statistics Office report out on Monday. Among all the people living in Slovakia, 98.6 percent had Slovak citizenship, while 96.4 percent were also born in Slovakia. There were 3,688,978 people aged between 15-64, while there were 863,720 aged 14 and under and 905,175 older than 65. Most of those who didn't have Slovak citizenship had that of another European Union member country (60,311), while 17,132 people had non-EU citizenship.
