Year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation in Slovakia rose to 13.6 percent in July, with month-on-month (m-o-m) inflation reaching 0.8 percent, the Statistics Office said on Monday. Consumer prices reported double-digit growth for the fifth consecutive month. The most important expenditure items for Slovak households, food and housing, including energy, were almost a fifth more expensive in yearly terms. Prices were mainly driven up by more expensive solid fuels, bread and meat. July saw a drop in fuel prices, however.
