Slovakia inflation 2.9 pc in Oct

November 15th, 2019

EU-harmonised inflation in Slovakia stood at 2.9 percent in October, the Statistics Office reported on Friday. Meanwhile, the average harmonised inflation rate for the 12-month period ending in October amounted to 2.6 percent. The index of consumer prices was mainly influenced by increases in alcoholic beverages and tobacco; in recreation and culture; in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; in furniture, housing accessories and maintenance; in restaurants and hotels; and in miscellaneous goods and services. Conversely, downward pressure on prices month-on-month was exerted by decreases in transport; and in foods and non-alcoholic beverages.
