Slovakia govt approves amendment to State Citizenship Act

Slovakia's government on Wednesday approved an amendment to the State Citizenship Act according to which Slovaks who acquire citizenship of another country will no longer have to be deprived of their Slovak citizenship. At the same time, if the amendment is passed in parliament, it will be possible to acquire Slovak citizenship for former Slovak citizens who were deprived of it at their own request as well as people who have at least one Slovak parent, grandparent or great-grandparent.
