At its session on Wednesday the government agreed to a draft amendment to the Nature and Landscape Protection Act, which involves a reform of national parks, meaning that state land in them is to be transferred under the administration of conservationists. The change in the management of national parks was announced by Environment Minister Jan Budaj. However, the amendment to the law was submitted to parliament by coalition MPs. SaS MP Anna Zemanova has confirmed to TASR that Budaj requested such a procedure. He welcomed the MPs' initiative and doesn't consider the way in which the proposal was submitted to be non-standard.
