Slovakia detects second case of bird flu

A second case of avian influenza in birds has been detected in Slovakia, this time in the village of Cifer (Trnava region), the Agriculture Ministry reported on Monday. The first case was discovered in the village of Zbehy (Nitra region) earlier in January. Both cases were diagnosed in private backyard poultry holdings.
