Slovakia deficit slightly up in April

The budget deficit rose slightly from 1.155 billion euros in March to 1.171 billion euros in April 2012, compared to the 1.019 billion euros recorded as of April 2011, according to preliminary figures from the Finance Ministry on Wednesday. Budget revenues amounted to 3.748 billion euros as of the end of last month, which is 3.1 percent higher on an annual basis. The figure represented 27.5 percent of the revenue plan for the whole year - 13.625 billion euros. State expenditures for the first four months stood at 4.919 billion euros, up 5.7 percent year-on-year.
