Slovakia decorates outgoing US ambassador

Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok has awarded a Golden Plaque to outgoing US Ambassador to Slovakia Bridget Brink, praising the diplomat for her contribution to the development of Slovak-American ties. "The United States and the Slovak Republic are strategic allies. The US ambassador, I believe, recognised the true value and strength of the friendship of Slovakia and its people and wasn't deterred in her diplomatic activities by manifestations of vulgar anti-Americanism by a section of the Slovak political opposition," said Korcok.
