Slovakia construction sector output down in 2019

February 10th, 2020

The output of Slovakia's construction sector continued to fall year-on-year in December 2019, recording a drop of 4.2 percent to 536.9 million euros on an annual basis, but rising by 3.3 percent month-on-month, the Statistics Office reported on Monday. Construction carried out in Slovakia fell by 4.7 percent year-on-year to 509 million euros. This was mainly due to declines in repairs and maintenance by 8.6 percent, and in the construction of new structures including modernisation and renovation by 4 percent.
