October 8th, 2019
Slovakia saw a GDP growth rate of 4 percent last year, according to a regular preliminary estimate of annual GDP growth published by the Statistics Office on Tuesday. The Statistics Office thus revised downwards its first estimate based on quarterly data, which stood at 4.1 percent. This time it also included in its estimate the impact of a major revision of the whole national accounts system, the office's spokesperson Jana Morhacova has told TASR. Meanwhile, the Statistics Office has started to publish all revised information, including GDP development since 1995. The change in real GDP as a result of this revision ranges between -1 and 0.7 percentage points in individual years.
