Transport Minister Andrej Dolezal in Orechova Poton (Trnava region) on Monday tested a self-driving car that has been developed in Slovakia by the Slovak University of Technology (STU) in cooperation with technology firms. "Slovakia is a global superpower in the automotive industry. However, carmakers only assemble cars here, while research and development is located elsewhere. Our goal is to get Slovakia to a level higher so that it will be transformed from an assembly workshop into a technological incubator with top research and development. This self-driving car is proof that we have all the prerequisites for that," Dolezal said.
