Industrial production posted a year-on-year (y-o-y) decrease of 8.1 percent in August 2019, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on Thursday. This was largely due to a 9.5-percent drop in industrial manufacturing. Meanwhile, supplies of electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning grew by 1.9 percent y-o-y and the output of mining and quarrying went up by 5 percent. "Seasonally adjusted industrial output in August fell by 2.6 percent on a month-on-month basis," said the Statistics Office.
