Slovak president: 'We must understand what discrimination means to those experiencing it'

There's a need to understand what hatred, humiliation and discrimination mean to the people and their families who experience them, so that history doesn't repeat itself, President Zuzana Caputova said marking Roma Holocaust Memorial Day on Tuesday. The Roma Holocaust is said to be unknown and poorly documented, she said on social media. "It is all the more valuable to preserve the memories of people whose ancestors experienced the Roma Holocaust and bore witness to inhuman acts," she added.
