Slovak parties are entering election campaign, can spend EUR 3 million

November 5th, 2019

Political parties are entering an official election campaign on Tuesday as Parliamentary Chair Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party/SNS) announced on Monday that the general election in Slovakia will be held on February 29, 2020. The election campaign begins with the publication of the decision on the election announcement in the Collection of Laws, and ends 48 hours before the election. The parties can spend a maximum of 3 million euros on it, including value-added tax. This stems from the Election Campaign Act. Parties also have to have transparent bank accounts.
