Parliament has rejected having Slovakia committed to the Istanbul Agreement through decisions and measures taken by the EU, said a resolution sponsored by the Slovak National Party and approved by parliament on Thursday. Parliament has also urged the government to interact with EU institutions and the Council of Europe in line with the resolution, with an "aim to prevent the passing of commitments... not anchored in the Slovak legal system" that the Slovak legal system would be expected to implement under the Istanbul Agreement through EU legal measures regardless.
