Slovak parliament doubles special bank levy

The Slovak parliament on Thursday decided on extending the existing special bank levy for next year, at the same time increasing its value to 0.4 percent of banks' liabilities as posted in their account balances minus certain items. The relevant bill, discussed in a fast-tracked mode, was backed by 74 MPs out of 126 present.
