Talks on regulating the profits of health insurance companies in Slovakia continued on Tuesday, with representatives of the Health and Finance Ministries, members of the parliamentary health committee and the head of the Health-care Supervision Office (UDZS) agreeing that the step was necessary. Jana Bitto Ciganikova, the head of parliament's health committee, said the regulations would be implemented gradually. The officials mulled making the companies' profits conditional on meeting a set of criteria, such as reducing cancer deaths and providing preventive check-ups, she said.
