Slovak justice minister on new court structure

June 11th, 2020

In the future, judges could specialise in individual agendas, such as family or criminal law, as outlined in a new court map, which Justice Minister Maria Kolikova has proposed. As the minister explained in an interview with TASR, courts should not be cancelled, but changed. "The court map is key to the reform of the judiciary, as it will allow us to specialise judges on main agendas," said Kolikova. The minister believes that specialisation will bring faster and better court decisions.
