The health sector's debt reached 599.69 million euros at the end of last year, down by 529.77 million euros year-on-year, with state-run university and faculty hospitals making up the biggest portion of it, according to a health ministry report presented to the government on Thursday. Overdue liabilities of 13 faculty and university hospitals make up 88 percent of the total sum of overdue liabilities in the whole sector. They have the biggest debts against suppliers of drug and medical aids, the report said.
