The Roma Holocaust tragedy was forgotten and ignored in Slovak society for a long time, and as a result of this Roma communities face prejudice and discrimination even today, said Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok (a Freedom and Solidarity/SaS nominee), marking Roma Holocaust Memorial Day on Tuesday. In this context he stressed that commemorating tragic events is essential in order to learn from history.
