March 13th, 2020
Slovakia's budget council (RRZ) has warned that if no substantial measures are adopted, the government deficit could reach 2.4 percent of GDP this year, adding that the figure could exceed 3 percent of GDP by 2022. According to the council, government finances are threatened especially by recently adopted changes to the pension system, such as the introduction of 13th pensions. The list of these threats has been expanded by the situation around coronavirus.
