A new department for hybrid threats is to be set up under the Slovak Security Council to bolster the state resilience against hybrid warfare and coordinate activities between different government portfolios to that end, according to a bill drafted by the Defence Ministry. "Foreign powers are employing a broad spectrum of hybrid warfare tools against the Slovak Republic at the moment, aiming to manipulate public opinion, exert influence on representatives of the state and its institutions, weaken or undermine the Slovak Republic's interests and erode the internal cohesion of the EU and NATO," reads the bill.
