Slovak agriculture ministry: Decree on bee protection not necessary

September 23rd, 2021

The agriculture ministry, headed by Samuel Vlcan, pays special attention to the issue of protecting bees, but it does not plan to issue a decree that would restrict the crop-dusting of fields, as it doesn't find it necessary in this regard, the ministry's press department has told TASR in reaction to Environment Minister Jan Budaj, who has said that he hopes Vlcan will translate his efforts concerning bee protection into a concrete decree. When assessing the risks associated with plant protection products, including fertilisers, their impacts on bees are considered separately. The results of these assessments affect the possible authorisation of such products and fertilisers, the ministry explained.
