February 17th, 2022
Several politicians, ministers and ambassadors, as well as representatives of public life came to say farewell to late ex-minister of foreign affairs Eduard Kukan on Wednesday. The late minister's spouse Zdenka Kukanova took part in the commemorative event as well. According to many people who attended, Kukan was an important Slovak and European figure and a man of patience and consensus. Former prime minister Mikulas Dzurinda thanked Kukan for everything he did for his homeland, the Western Balkans countries, the EU and the wider international community. Prime Minister Eduard Heger also paid tribute to the memory of a "great Slovak democrat and diplomat and a rare man".
