Senators express concern over "dismantling" of Polish judicial system

Polish Senate Speaker Tomasz Grodzki, speaking on behalf of the majority of the upper house on Wednesday, expressed "the deepest concern about a further stage of the dismantling of the Polish justice system" after the president signed a contested bill into law. The speaker went on to describe the move's consequences as leading in the direction of the "authoritarian dictatorships of the East."
