Senators demanding postal voting for foreign Czechs

July 5th, 2021

An election law amendment, proposed by some senators, is to introduce postal voting for Czechs living abroad when the president and lawmakers are elected. The legislation was presented by 50 senators headed by Marek Hilser from the group of Mayors and Tomas Czernin (TOP 09). The amendment, signed by all members of the board of the upper house, is to take effect next year. The Senate will start debating it in three weeks, but the Czech Republic will only deal with it after the October general election.
