Senate speaker, Italian senate president meet in Italy

Senate Speaker Stanisław Karczewski held a meeting in Rome on Monday with the President of the Italian Senate Maria Elisabetta Alberti Caselatti, during which they discussed bilateral and inter-parliamentary relations. Among the topics raised during the meeting were the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Italy, economic cooperation and upcoming elections to the European Parliament. Karczewski pointed out the importance of the EP elections and underscored that Poland wants the EU to be expanded and strengthened. Caselatti noted that Italy has an enormous problem with immigration and thanked Poland for the financial involvement in activities aimed at solving the problem.
